| Overview

Rossendale Borough Council has been successful in its grant bid submission to the DLUHC for Capital Regeneration Project funding.

The Council has secured £17.9million of LUF grant, £1.5m contribution from Lancashire County Council and a £1.8m contribution from Rossendale Borough Council to deliver a number of various projects under the Regeneration scheme.

The Rossendale Capital Regeneration Scheme encompasses a number of projects, but split into two categories. The Rossendale Town Centres including the demolition and redevelopment of a new market facility and Union Street public realm in Bacup, and the refurbishment and development alterations of the Rawtenstall Market as the projects main priority. Subsequently and depending on the budget, there is the refurbishment of a Skills and Employability Hub ‘The Bridge’, and work to improve the connectivity and public realm environment of Rawtenstall.”
