GCL have been appointed by South Ribble Borough Council to provide Project Management and Quantity Surveying services in relation to works at three S278 public realm and highway improvement projects in Penwortham, near Preston. Services are for RIBA Stages 4-6 in Kingsfold and Middleforth and from RIBA Stage 2 at Liverpool Road.

• Kingsfold – predominantly public realm improvements to the village centre including high specification paving and hard and soft landscaping features, plus formation of a feature park and seating area. The works also include some highway safety improvements.
• Middleforth – creation of a feature gateway environment by introduction of high specification paving, clear footways and feature planting area.
• Liverpool Road – footway and public realm improvements to include the continuation of a highways improvement scheme to introduce dedicated cycleway, carriageway narrowing and traffic signal upgrades.
