Didsbury High School (DHS) opened in September 2019 and is a member of the Laurus Trust family. In September 2023, the Didsbury Sixth Form was opened, a brand new academic sixth form on the school site. The school now has all seven year groups with a student population that exceeds 1,100. This includes an academic sixth form for 300 students.

As a result of high performance, including an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ award in March 2024, the Local Authority have requested that the school consider taking additional students.

This request comes with a requirement to provide additional space for circa 50 students, an extension which will be funded by the Local Authority.

GCL have been appointed through the RISE Construction Framework, to provide multi-disciplinary services including Employers Agent, Quantity Surveying, Procurement Management, Architect, Civil & Structural Engineering, MEP Services and Fire Engineer.

We have worked closely with the client team to develop initial feasibility proposals, with fully costed options, in order to address all our stakeholders requirements. Following a planning submission, a contractor will be appointed through a single stage tender process and full Bills of Quantities on a traditional contract form. GCL will act as EA, CA and Quantity Surveyor through construction, concluding the final account and handover.
