Chorley Markets

Chorley Markets are renowned, but work was needed to protect the asset for the future and improve its appeal. The Client gave us a limited brief and a budget to work to, the key objective being to deliver a market facility in the centre of Chorley which would maintain Chorley’s reputation as a premier market destination. GCL developed a fully costed design proposal and worked with Council Officers to agree this with Members and Traders. The designs protected the integrity of the structure whilst also delivering modern and bright facilities including new toilets and entrances, signage, a food and beverage seating area and new lighting. GCL managed the procurement, cost management, design and project management and site supervision. The final scheme is a total transformation and places the markets as a true focal point in the town centre, we are really pleased with how this one turned out.
