Based out of our offices in Chorley, Lancashire, our dynamic business draws on extensive and varied experience in the built environment and our clients can count on us to ensure things run more smoothly, collaboratively and profitably.

| Meet the Team

Dan is a Chartered Surveyor and Project Manager with over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, having held a number of senior roles in different disciplines across the North West. Dan is skilled in managing multiple stakeholders and delivering complex, high value projects on programme and within budget. Dan is experienced in procurement and project delivery, coupled with a strong background in commercial management. An excellent communicator who understands the need to establish an effective team and develop positive relationships.

With varied industry roles, Darren has over 15 years’ experience in the construction industry. As a Quantity Surveyor his practical experience leads to a great knowledge of construction techniques. He has an extensive background in the commercial management of high value construction projects as well as pre-contract cost planning. As an excellent communicator, Darren will work to develop a positive relationship with all parties and will interrogate all commercial aspects of the project to ensure best value.

John has over 35 years in the industry and has extensive experience in cost management of commercial construction projects, with a particular focus on pre contract cost planning, design management and procurement. John is skilled in managing multiple stakeholders and delivering complex, high value projects on programme and within budget. His experience in procurement and project delivery, coupled with a strong background in commercial management, position him ideally to lead pre contract cost planning processes.

John Wilson

Tom has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, having held a number of senior planning roles amongst Tier 1 contractors working with many different forms of contracts, including extensively with NEC3 and NEC4. Tom is highly experienced in project planning and delay analysis, having worked on both the Client side and in general contracting. As a positive communicator and team member, Tom is used to collaborating effectively with project partners to deliver detailed and reliable resources.

Craig has worked in the civil engineering and construction sector for over 25 years in a variety of senior roles. Craig is a skilled contract administrator, project manager and cost manager, bringing extensive experience from a broad portfolio of projects. Craig is used to managing project teams and his client facing approach make him an ideal project lead.

Leanne has extensive administration experience, gained over 35 years in multiple industries. As well as providing office support to the GCL team, Leanne takes ownership of quality assurance processes and document control to ensure the management and structure of the service is in accordance with the company’s Quality Management Systems.

Dave has over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry, degree qualified, with senior experience in roles with large construction and development companies. He has developed a positive reputation for working alongside clients and supply chain members to deliver high quality projects, on time with excellent financial returns. Dave has a varied project CV ranging from healthcare, residential, offices, student accommodation, leisure and industrial.

Rob is an experienced Quantity Surveyor, having worked in the industry for over 15 years. He has worked on projects ranging from £1m to £25m in value. With a wide-ranging experience of projects in a variety of sectors, including new build, refurbishment and public realm, Rob is used to working as part of a delivery team and is an excellent communicator. Rob prides himself on his attention to detail, problem solving and ability to exceed client’s expectations.

We are Regulated by RICS, Members of the Association of Project Managers, Accredited NEC Project Managers and are ISO9001 accredited. Our health and safety systems and processes are formally recognised and approved by the SSIP and accredited by PQS. We are Passivhaus qualified and accredited consultants and are members of the Association of Environmentally Conscious Building. Gosling Consulting are also proud to be a ‘Carbon Neutral Business’, having achieved this accolade following a formal audit and carbon offset process in 2024. In 2024 the team were thrilled to win the ‘Built Environment’ category at the annual Red Rose Awards.

We are proud supporters of a number of local charities including Inspire Youth Zone in Chorley, Chorley Sheds, Holly’s Hearts and Thrive Café in Liverpool. These charities provide essential services and support to young people and families across the communities they serve, they also hold personal connections for the GCL team. Community

We strive to engage closely with our community, with a particular focus on young people. We are proud to be a registered provider of work experience to Runshaw College and to also as providers of mentoring supporting to Inspire Youth Zone. Our team also work closely with the careers lead at Parklands Academy in Chorley offering Annual Work Experience Opportunities and supporting Mock Interviews and Careers Fairs to promote the construction industry. We are also committed to providing social value benefits on a project specific basis.

As the Strategic Lead for Future Investments for Chorley Council and South Ribble Council during the period of 1999-2022, I worked with Gosling Consulting on multiple projects including Leyland Town Deal and Worden Hall Refurbishment. As the Service Lead for Commercial and Assets at Chorley Council, I worked with Gosling Consulting on the delivery of the Chorley Covered Market refurbishment. As a local contractor, GCL demonstrated a real interest in the project being a success and having pride in the outcome. The project was delivered throughout the Covid period which, whilst allowing opportunities for access during lockdown, also posed supply chain and cost challenges for the team to deal with.
